Calculate contact force for the load and free rollers, then add driven-roller inertia and gearing to estimate motor-shaft torque.

Inputs

Choose units and enter numbers. Full-width digits and fractions such as 1/8 or 1 3/8 are accepted. Changing a unit converts the entered value.

Results

Reference calculation only. Results do not certify suitability for an actual design or its safety.

Diagram

Formula and applicability

r=D/2; R=measured or cr·mg cosθ; Fc=ma+mg sinθ+R+Jf a/r²; Tr=Fc r+Jd a/r; ωr=v/r; ωm=iωr; Tm=Tr/(iη) if Tr≥0, otherwise Tr/i; Ftraction=μqmg cosθ.

Displayed values are rounded. Diagrams illustrate the calculation conditions. Initial material and fluid properties are examples; replace them with values for the actual material, temperature and conditions.

Using this information as a reference

Equations assume particular loads, supports and deformation ranges. Check inputs, units and the applicability of each equation. Diagrams explain conditions; they are not manufacturing drawings or proof of safety.

Material values are typical values or reference ranges, not certified product properties or ready-to-use design allowables. They vary with standards, product form, dimensions, temper and temperature. Check the specifications and inspection certificates for the actual product.

Displayed safety factors and checks apply only to the supplied inputs and calculation model. They do not automatically establish the safety of a complete design, including code compliance, service life, fatigue or joints. For actual design, manufacture and use, separately verify applicable regulations and standards, product specifications, and the necessary tests and engineering review.

r=D/2; R=measured or cr·mg cosθ; Fc=ma+mg sinθ+R+Jf a/r²; Tr=Fc r+Jd a/r; ωr=v/r; ωm=iωr; Tm=Tr/(iη) if Tr≥0, otherwise Tr/i; Ftraction=μqmg cosθ.

直線・同一周速・滑りなしで正方向へ走行している瞬間のモデルです。v≥0、|θ|≤60°、0<η≤1、i>0。

r=D/2; R=measured or cr·mg cosθ; Fc=ma+mg sinθ+R+Jf a/r²; Tr=Fc r+Jd a/r; ωr=v/r; ωm=iωr; Tm=Tr/(iη) if Tr≥0, otherwise Tr/i; Ftraction=μqmg cosθ.

Instantaneous straight positive travel with equal surface speeds and no slip. Require v≥0, |θ|≤60°, 0<η≤1 and i>0. R is load-side constant-speed resistance; avoid double counting gravity, acceleration or drive efficiency. cr is dimensionless, not a length-valued rolling-resistance coefficient. Refer different-speed inertias by ΣJj(ωj/ωr)², separating free and driven groups. Free rollers accelerate through load contact; driven rollers accelerate directly from the drive. Motor rotor inertia and other translating chain/belt masses are excluded. v=0 is a running-model limit, not breakaway/static-holding verification. Braking uses lossless reverse conversion, excluding regenerative/resistor/brake capacity. Traction is an aggregate check based on entered driven normal-load fraction q; local load sharing, free-roller slip and contact pressure require separate checks. Establish the torque limit for actual speed, direction and duration. This does not certify continuous/RMS duty, thermal behaviour, life or strength.
