| Reference / example | Value | What it means | Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Frequency 0.5 example | 0.5 Hz | One cycle in 2 s; amplitude 10 mm | |
| Frequency 2 example | 2 Hz | One cycle in 0.5 s; amplitude 10 mm | |
| Frequency 5 example | 5 Hz | One cycle in 0.2 s; amplitude 10 mm |
All examples use 10 mm amplitude and prescribed sinusoidal motion, not a machine response calculation.
Applies to condition A. Then press Play or Reveal.
Conditions
Amplitude is measured from the center to one extreme. This is not a response derived from spring stiffness, mass or damping.

Prescribed motion x=A sin(2πft). Use slow playback for high frequencies; the playback factor is labeled.
How to read this view
Amplitude versus peak-to-peak
An amplitude of 10 mm gives 20 mm peak-to-peak travel. At 2 Hz there are two cycles per second and a 0.5 s period.
Playback and real time
Motion faster than screen updates can appear stationary or reversed. Playback is limited to five displayed cycles per second here; choose a slower factor above that range. This is a viewing limit, not a physical limit.
