Free engineering tools and unit converter

Convert engineering units here, then choose a calculator, a material comparison or a moving mechanism. No account is needed.

This page and its converter are in English. Linked tools are available in Japanese and English; other language entrances explain where to start.

The converter uses fixed unit definitions. Temperature uses an offset; all other categories use a scale factor. Standard gravity for kgf is 9.80665 m/s². Values stay in your browser.

Mechanisms in motion

See how crank length, link length and speed change motion. Compare positions and velocity curves; set a target stroke to estimate dimensions.

Slider–crank · toggle · planetary gearsOpens in English →

Beam deflection and stress

Choose the supports and load diagram first. Then enter the span, section and material. Read deflection and stress separately.

Length in mm · load in N · modulus in MPaOpens in English →

Open a CAD file without CAD software

Open a supported STL, STEP, DXF or PDF in your browser. Viewer processing stays on your device; supported formats have file-size limits.

STL units may need confirmation from the original model.Opens in English →

Compare engineering materials

Compare density, stiffness and strength. For calculations, select the product condition, temper and thickness when available.

Motor speed and transmission

Estimate gear speed ratio, torque and belt transmission. Check the actual component rating separately from the calculated requirement.

Explore physical quantities visually

Compare values with moving diagrams. Check the model conditions and playback speed before interpreting the movement.

Three checks before using an answer

  1. Match the diagram to the real support, load direction and mechanism.
  2. Set the unit beside every input. A unit conversion does not change gauge pressure into absolute pressure.
  3. Compare the result with the actual product limit. A calculated number alone is not a safety approval.
