Convert rotation rate and angular speed. Hz assumes one cycle equals one revolution.

The nearby list shows the reference unit and up to two rows on either side. Expand it to see every unit. Check SI / metric, imperial / US customary and other definitions before important use.

How do you convert rpm to rad/s?

One revolution is 2π radians and one minute is 60 seconds: rad/s = rpm × 2π / 60.

  • 60 rpm ≈ 6.28318530718 rad/s
  • 1 rps = 60 rpm
Does angular speed alone determine linear speed?

The radius is also needed. In v = rω, using metres for r and rad/s for ω gives v in m/s. This page converts angular-speed units only.
