FORMAT GUIDE

Inspect a DXF drawing and save it as SVG.

View supported lines, circles and text from 2D DXF files and convert them to SVG. DWG and every DXF entity type are not supported.

Open the viewer Formats, limits and the Free / Pro comparison

Supported DXF content

View lines, circles, arcs, straight polylines, points, single-line text, supported BLOCK geometry and stored dimension geometry. Geometry parallel to the XY plane is shown in 2D without elevation. Drawings containing 3D geometry or unsupported entities may not open.

From viewing to saving

Select a DXF file and confirm opening. Drag to pan and scroll to zoom. Select SVG, confirm conversion, inspect the result and save it. If opening fails, the interface shows the file name and reason.

SVG conversion notes

Arcs are approximated by line segments; text uses substitute fonts; points use simple symbols. Z coordinates, layers, CAD units and line styles are not retained. Compare text placement, geometry and scale with the original.

Share a PNG

Reopen the SVG in the viewer to save the supported display as PNG. PNG is an image; it does not retain editable CAD lines, dimensions or physical units.

Free edition scope

DXF supports up to 8 MiB per file and 20,000 entities. SVG supports up to 1 MiB of document content and 20,000 shapes. Direct DWG reading, DXF export, and extracting drawing lines from images or PDFs into DXF are unsupported in the free edition.
